Our Past & Present

Mildenhall Montessori Schools had its beginnings as a Canada centennial project in 1967. Mildenhall Montessori Schools comprises three campuses: High Park Gardens Montessori School, High Park Centennial Montessori School and Taddle Creek Montessori School – which offer an enhanced Montessori program, including French, music, sports and art. MMS is owned by Brent Lisowski and Brenda Hebert, Heads of School, who have been affiliated with the Schools since 1978.

Brent and Brenda’s children, Anne, Michael and Christopher, received their first schooling at High Park Gardens Montessori School in the late 1970’s and early 1980’s. This school is located at 35 High Park Gardens, a Toronto listed historical house and coach house owned by Brent and Brenda located directly across from High Park and minutes from the Keele subway station. The 7,000 square foot house and coach house are on a 15,000 square foot site. There are three Casa classes here for children aged 2 ½ to 6 years. This School will commence its Elementary program in the Coach House in September 2011.

High Park Centennial Montessori School is located at 35 Ourland Avenue, a 20,000 square foot school with a library and gymnasium on a three acre site minutes south of the QEW at Islington Avenue. The School is rented under a long term lease from the Toronto District School Board. Here there are two Casa classes and five Elementary classes (grades 1 to 6).

The third campus, Taddle Creek Montessori School, is located at 39 Spadina Road, a few minutes north of Bloor Street and the Spadina subway station. This location is also a Toronto listed historical building owned by Brent and Brenda, and expanded during the summer of 2008 to an 8,000 square foot school premise. There are four Casa and three Elementary classes through grade 6 in this School.

All MMI Schools are eco-friendly.
