Gail completed her A.M.I. training at Sion Hill College in Dublin, Ireland, an intensive three year course in Montessori pedagogy and methodology. She started the Casa program at Humberside Montessori School and has taught at many fine Montessori schools in Ontario.  She was also the founding principal Taddle Creek Montessori School in 1998.

Gail has also lectured in the Early Childhood Education program at Niagara College.  In addition to her role as Principal, Gail is a CCMA accreditation consultant, visiting other Montessori schools to review and support their efforts towards authentic Montessori programs.

Where have you lived in the world?

I was born in Athlone, County Westmeath, Ireland and have lived in Dublin, Manhattan, Toronto and Hamilton, Ontario.

What have you studied? How long have you been a teacher?

I studied at Sion Hill Montessori College Dublin, Ireland and completed AMI 3-6yrs. I have taught for 30 years.

What is something you are really good at?

I am a really good golfer and badminton player and was a great debater during my High School days.

What do you like to do when you aren’t at school?

When I am not at school, I like golfing, going to the theatre and movies, reading, and generally being with people!

What is something not everyone knows about you?

If you knew me really well, you would know My Life Story!

What are some of your most favourite things?

I have a dog named Faolan and he is a Golden Doodle. I was never a "dog" person but I cannot imagine life without him. My two children and my husband are my greatest champions and I am proud of all our accomplishments as a family. Growing up in a border community in Ireland during the "troubles" was a very interesting experience! My favourite movie is Cinema Paradiso and I try and watch it at least once per year and enjoy screening it outdoors!
