WHERE HAVE YOU LIVED IN THE WORLD?
I was born in Morelia, Mexico, and lived there until I was seven years old. After that, I spent 21 wonderful years in Montreal and Laval, in the province of Quebec. I’m now happily living in Toronto.
WHAT HAVE YOU STUDIED? HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN A TEACHER?
I hold a multidisciplinary degree in Psychology and Sociology from Montreal University, and I studied at Laval University in the certificate of neuroscience and phonetics of the French language, with a focus on children’s learning. I completed all my schooling in French and have been teaching since 2023.
WHAT LANGUAGES DO YOU SPEAK?
I enjoy learning languages - I speak Spanish, French, and English fluently. I studied German for two years at CEGEP, and am now tackling Polish.
WHAT IS SOMETHING YOU ARE REALLY GOOD AT?
I am good at doing my own hair and have worn it in multiple lengths and colors, including pink and ginger (haircuts, coloring, braids, and all sorts of styles). I also enjoy DIY projects and I wrapped my car in vinyl, changing it from red to teal and covering it with sparkles and cute stickers. Lastly, I’m very organized and love creating systems for just about anything, you name it, I have a plan for it!
WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO DO WHEN YOU AREN’T AT SCHOOL?
Outside of school, my interests include learning languages, reading, and exploring healthy eating through cooking and baking. I also enjoy collecting eggs and spending time at my boyfriend’s family farm, playing with their dog Suzie and being around the animals. I love traveling and discovering new cultures, and I enjoy being involved in my church family and spending time with them, who always make me feel at home.
WHAT IS SOMETHING NOT EVERYONE KNOWS ABOUT YOU?
If you knew me really well, you would know that I love reading, whether it’s a physical book or on my Kindle, I enjoy books about everything! I also love discovering new cafes, working on my laptop, or reading while sipping my habitual matcha latte with coconut milk. You would also know that I LOVE lemon on everything, I even had a lemon-themed party and made a giant lemon piñata!
WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR MOST FAVOURITE THINGS?
My favorite book is Consider the Lilies. I love singing and was part of the choir at my church back in Quebec. I come from a big family and am very close to them, so my childhood was filled with wonderful moments, like cooking together and enjoying barbecues. My favorite trip was to Scotland, where I loved walking on the beach, collecting shells, watching the sunset next to a lighthouse, and seeing all the sheep wandering freely along the roads.
