Mildenhall Montessori Schools

History.

Mildenhall is one of the oldest Montessori schools in Ontario and a founding school of the CCMA, which works towards ensuring best practices and authentic Montessori through accreditation.

The origins of Mildenhall Montessori Schools date back to 1977 when two young parents felt that their daughter needed "more" in her early years than at home daycare. Unsure what this "more" was, they explored the options in the neighbourhood, leading to the discovery of High Park Montessori (then located on Runnymede Rd). An at-home admissions interview was an imposing but convincing start to their Montessori education. Later, an observation day would change their lives. In 1993, this same family became the owners of the School, and the very same young daughter is now our Head of Schools.

Brent Lisowski and Brenda Hebert have had successful careers as senior partners at two of Canada’s major law firms, but the schools have been their pride and joy for the last 30 years.

They have dedicated their efforts to ensuring that the Schools are providing a program that is optimal for the children, are flexible and responsive to parental requests, are staffed by highly qualified and experienced educators, and are sustainable for generations. They have expanded the School into three locations across the city which educate children from 18months to 14 years.

Our school family makes up one of the largest Montessori schools in Ontario, with over 300 students and 65 teachers and staff.  We are also one of the oldest Montessori schools in Ontario and a founding school of the CCMA which works towards ensuring best practices and authentic Montessori through accreditation. We are proud and honoured to continue to build a legacy of authentic Montessori in Canada.
