Taddle Creek Montessori School, part of the Mildenhall family of schools, is located in the historic Annex area of downtown Toronto and has been providing high-fidelity Montessori education to children age 2.5-12 for over 20 years.

Taddle Creek is looking for a Montessori Casa teacher to start in the Fall of 2019, who has the knowledge and skills necessary to follow the philosophy as set forth by Dr. Montessori. The person we are looking for will not only have a deep, abiding interest in Montessori and child development, but also have strong interpersonal skills, a love of learning, and be a team player who enjoys collaborating with colleagues.

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Implementing and delivering high-fidelity Montessori education

Establishing a child-centred classroom that encourages children to be independent and to respect themselves and others

Fostering a feeling of joy and discovery

Ensuring a safe and caring environment for students and their parents

Reporting and record keeping that ensures that the Principal and parents are kept abreast of the challenges, successes and competencies of each child

Having effective communication skills, and actively and positively interacting with parents in both formal and informal settings

Qualifications and requirements:

AMI Primary (Casa) level training and 5 years experience leading a Casa classroom

Current Standard First Aid and CPR or willingness to obtain

Criminal Reference Check with Vulnerable Sector Search within past 6 months

SUMMER PROGRAM ASSISTANT

Mildenhall Montessori Schools is seeking an extraordinary Summer Program Assistant.  We run a summer program for children 18 months to 6 years at our High Park Gardens location. The Assistant, in partnership with the Program Director and lead guides will be responsible for carrying out the day to day summer programming (arts and crafts, games, Montessori materials, outings, and free play)  in a caring and attentive manner. There is opportunity to work up to 8 weeks during July and August 2019. This is an opportunity for creative, enthusiastic, and inspiring individuals who are interested in the education of young children.

High Park Gardens is a Montessori school accredited by the Canadian Council of Montessori Administrators and listed with the Ontario Ministry of Education as an independent school. It currently provides an authentic Montessori education for children aged 18 months to 12 years old.  It also provides an enriched experience in French, music, art and sports, and offers March break and summer programming. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Assist with the delivery of quality programming for children aged 18 mos - 6 years old (10-16 children per group)

- Ensure children are able to engage with the planned activities and assist them when needed

- Communicate any concerns to the lead guide and/or Program Director

- Assist in all additional duties as assigned by the Program Director

JOB SPECIFICATIONS/ QUALIFICATION REQUIRED:

- Experience working with young children is required

- Must be at least 16 years of age

- Montessori experience is preferred but not required

- Previous summer camp experience preferred

- Valid First Aid & CPR (Child and Infant) certification required

- Must be able to provide current clear Police Criminal Background Check for Vulnerable Sector

- Energetic and Enthusiastic

Casa Classroom Assistant

High Park Gardens Montessori School is looking for a qualified part-time Casa classroom assistant starting immediately, ECE or Montessori-trained. This position is a great opportunity for a newly trained Casa teacher to gain valuable experience in a Montessori classroom. Hours for this position are 9am-5pm.

  • if ECE, Montessori assistants training is an asset

High Park Gardens Montessori School is looking for a qualified part-time after school care assistant starting immediately, ECE or Montessori-trained. Hours are Monday - Friday, 3-6pm, with the opportunity to also supply teach when needed if you are a Montessori graduate.

Toddler Guide (Maternity Leave)

High Park Gardens Montessori School is seeking an extraordinary Toddler Guide to start September 2019.  This is a maternity leave position for 10 months (September through June) with a possibility of extension.

We are seeking an individual who has a Bachelor’s degree as well as a Toddler certification from a recognized, accredited Montessori training institute (MACTE accreditation preference) in addition to a sound understanding of the Montessori philosophy and methodology.

This position requires good organizational and team work skills, as well as excellent written and verbal communication skills and an ability to communicate positively and openly with parents.

The Guide will report directly to the Principal of the School.
