WHERE HAVE YOU LIVED IN THE WORLD?
I was born in Manila, Philippines. I've lived most of my life in Asia but in 2007, I decided to visit my sister here in Toronto and have ended up living here ever since!
WHAT HAVE YOU STUDIED? HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN A TEACHER?
I took Arts and Science classes from UofT including a few courses associated with child development. Those classes inspired me to complete my Infant Toddler (0-3) Montessori teaching degree from Toronto Montessori Institute. I have been teaching since 2002.
WHAT LANGUAGES DO YOU SPEAK?
I speak English, Thai, Tagalog (along with some Japanese, some Spanish, and a bit of Hungarian).
WHAT IS SOMETHING YOU ARE REALLY GOOD AT?
I love learning new languages, and I have a knack for problem solving and organizing messy rooms!
WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO DO WHEN YOU AREN’T AT SCHOOL?
I love spending time outdoors, photography (and occasionally finding quotes that go along with the photos), listening to music, eating good food, attending special activities/events, and spending tons of time with my loved ones!
WHAT IS SOMETHING NOT EVERYONE KNOWS ABOUT YOU?
That I laugh at my own jokes and I'm a big Harry Potter fan! I've wanted to be a teacher ever since I was 5 years old and that I'm a very emotional/empathetic person. I am also VERY terrified of snakes and frogs (through my experiences living in Asia 😳).
WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR MOST FAVOURITE THINGS?
My partner and I have a dog named Benny and we love him with all our hearts! When I was younger, I spent a few years with my grandparents back in the Philippines and my love for nature & animals stems from the "little farm" that my grandparents had on their property.
