High Park Gardens Montessori School | Principal

Lee has been the dynamic and inspiring Principal of High Park Gardens Montessori School for 12 years. Lee has an Honours BA in Art and Art History with a minor in Gender studies from the University of Toronto and an Art and Art History Diploma from Sheridan College. She is a gifted artist and illustrator and always includes an illustrated note for her 2 sons' lunch boxes.  Lee loves music, learning the ukelele, and spending time with all the children and families in the School.

 

WHERE HAVE YOU LIVED IN THE WORLD?

I was born in Dundee, Scotland and have lived in Canada and Scotland.


WHAT HAVE YOU STUDIED? HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN A TEACHER?

I studied art, art history, and gender studies at the University of Toronto and Sheridan College. I have my Early Childhood Diploma from Sheridan College, and AMS Montessori credentials. I have been teaching since 2004.


WHAT IS SOMETHING YOU ARE REALLY GOOD AT?

I am really good at cooking, singing, and dancing -does it count if I think I can dance? :) 


WHAT DO YOU LIKE TO DO WHEN YOU AREN’T AT SCHOOL?

When I am not at school, I like painting, drawing, and taking photographs.


WHAT IS SOMETHING NOT EVERYONE KNOWS ABOUT YOU?

If you knew me really well, you would know that I am the proud Mum of 2 incredible boys and an english mastiff pup, I am a passionate educator, and I love what I do for a living. Also, that I want to write a children's book.


WHAT ARE SOME OF YOUR MOST FAVOURITE THINGS?

The arts, books, stationary, good food. My favourite book is still Arnie the Doughnut, by Laurie Keller.
